An in-depth description of the Pride Program, a program at an urban Chicago charter school. Students are grouped into small cohorts, led by a Pride leader all four years who teaches a curriculum that addresses the specific needs faced by their students. There is a different Pride theme for each year of high school: in 9th grade the theme is a successful transition from elementary to high school, 10th is identity development and self-awareness, 11th is college readiness, and 12th is college success. This worksheet provides space for students to list the colleges in which they are interested. Students are asked to list colleges in different categories, including their dream school, their reach school, their probable and safety schools, HBCUs, and Illinois (or instate and public) schools.
